Turning Back to Blogging With WordPress

It’s been long overdue but I finally got around to setting up my own website.  Technically this is my second website if you count the page I had on GeoCities sometime in 1998. Yahoo purchased GeoCities a while back but sadly the service has since been shut down.

For those of you who don’t know me welcome to my site!  My name is Sam Kear and I enjoy working and playing with technology.  I work full time as a Network Analyst for an algorithmic trading firm in Kansas City.  My job isn’t really ‘work’ in the sense that I enjoy what I do.  I get to test out lots of new computer and network hardware which is a lot of fun for me.  I also spend quite a bit of time using packet sniffers like Wireshark to troubleshoot network problems.

I enjoy troubleshooting and solving problems which is probably why technology is so enjoyable for me.  As we all know technology never works 100% of the time which is why people like myself are able to find work.

When I’m not working I enjoy playing computer games, experimenting with Funtoo Linux, and riding my motorcycle.  I plan on using this blog as I place to share information about my projects and hobbies that might be useful to others.  Most of my posts will be related to computers and technology which is my passion.

Anyone is welcome to post comments or questions on any of my posts.  If you would like to contact me directly you can do so by clicking the contact link at the top of the site.

I have a list of topic’s that I plan to start blogging about but for my next post I will share my experience with purchasing a domain name and setting up this website.

Do you have an idea for a website you have been wanting to create?

Sam Kear
